Vincennes University opens new $4M student center complex

VINCENNES, Ind. (AP) - Vincennes University students who resume fall classes this week will be able to explore the campus' new $4 million student center that includes fireplaces, a sports lounge and a bowling center.

The newly finished student center opened Thursday in Vincennes, located about 40 miles north of Evansville. Fall classes begin at the school Monday.

The new building blends a nearly 23,000-square-foot, two-story addition with an adjacent renovation of the campus' Physical Education Complex.

The centrally located student center includes sound and video entertainment, dining areas, fireplaces, a gaming space and a large bowling center.

University President Chuck Johnson says the student center will be a place where students will gather, socialize "and develop bonds that will last a lifetime."
