Elk Grove food pantry monetary donations at Meijer

Shoppers at Meijer in Rolling Meadows can donate money to the Elk Grove Township food pantry at checkout through Sept. 24.

The funds will be used by the township to purchase items, which are many times protein sources, officials said.

From Sept. 1-3, those who donate $10 will have their donation double-matched.

"Our community has been very generous when it comes to donating to our food pantry; unfortunately, need has also gone up over the last several months," Township Supervisor Mike Sweeney said in a news release.
