Woman hospitalized after Gurnee crash

One woman was hospitalized after a crash in Gurnee that knocked out a stoplight.

Two SUVs collided at the intersection of Hunt Club Road and Washington Street about 2:30 p.m. Friday, officials said. One vehicle wound up on its side, and the other hit the disabled stoplight, according to Gurnee fire officials.

One driver declined medical treatment, but the other was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville after complaining of chest pain, officials said.

The stoplight, which is at the northeast corner of the intersection, is being replaced with a temporary stoplight.
