New apprenticeship training lab opens in Elk Grove Village

The Associated Builders and Contractors Illinois Chapter has opened a new apprenticeship lab in Elk Grove Village for carpentry; heating, ventilation and air-conditioning; and plumbing training.

The training facility at 1465 Elmhurst Road hosted a grand opening and ribbon cutting this week. Electrical apprentices will remain in the trade association's existing Elk Grove facility.

The association says its enrollment has grown from 89 apprentices in 2010 to 243 in 2015, and more than half are enrolled in Elk Grove Village.
