Glen Ellyn Attorney Appointed to Board of Directors of the Illinois Bar Foundation

CHICAGO, IL, August 2016 - Lawrence A. Stein, a Member of Aronberg Goldgehn Davis & Garmisa, LLC in Chicago, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Illinois Bar Foundation (IBF).

The IBF raises funds for distribution to Illinois nonprofit organizations that provide free legal services to those with limited means. It also provides assistance to lawyers who can no longer support themselves due to incapacity. The IBF oversees the Illinois JusticeCorps program, which provides trained part-time student volunteers to serve as guides in courthouses. This year, the Foundation will distribute more than $750,000 in funds statewide.

Stein concentrates his practice in commercial and appellate litigation, and contested estates. He is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America -- a highly selective and prestigious honor society of trial lawyers. Stein served on the Board of Directors for the Appellate Lawyers Association. He is the Chair of the Civil Law Section Council for the DuPage County Bar Association and previous Chair of the Appellate Law Section Council. Stein recently completed his term as the president of the DuPage Bar Foundation.

Stein is currently a member of section councils on federal civil practice and legal education of the Illinois State Bar Association and a member of the Advisory Board for Prairie State Services Inc. He has served as President of both the Glen Ellyn Public Library Board of Trustees and its charitable foundation. Stein is also involved with the Constitutional Rights Foundation in Chicago.

He received an A.B. in Economics from the University of Chicago and a J.D. from Northern Illinois University. Stein currently resides in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.
