Art in the Barn, Barrington's fine art show, celebrates 42nd year

In 1974, a Barrington tradition was born. A group of ten women and various artists pioneered the first ever Art in the Barn with the goal of creating a quality art event for their community. Originally, only 30 artists and some 1,500 attendees visited the first ever Art in the Barn. Now, 180 artists will display their works in many different genres at its 42nd annual event.

On Saturday, September 24 and Sunday, September 25, join us on the grounds of Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital for this much anticipated event. Live entertainment, great food, children's art tent, a petting zoo and much more will be available for your pleasure.

Admission is $5.00 and children under 12 are free (no pets). All net proceeds benefit Good Shepherd Hospital. Art in the Barn is one of the major fundraisers sponsored by the Auxiliary of hospital.

Specific art featured in Art in the Barn include fine art in oil, watercolor, pastel, drawing, acrylics, fiber, glass, photography, digital media, jewelry, printmaking, ceramics, sculpture, scratchboard, wood and mixed media. It will all be on display and ready for purchase for you to take home.

This incredible event takes over 400 volunteers to put on this tradition for its 42nd year. These volunteers work diligently to produce an amazing event for a family outing year after year. Without them, this event would not be as nearly beneficial or memorable. Help us celebrate the artistic talent our community has to offer.
