Kids enjoy Book Time with Ronald McDonald

Ronald McDonald was thrilled to be at the Gail Borden Public Library in Elgin on Wednesday, Aug. 3.

Ronald McDonald was honored to be a part of this special morning which took place at the library in the Meadows Community Rooms ABC. It was a spectacular event.

As Ronald McDonald entered the library, he was welcomed by a very enthusiastic library staff and many Elgin families. Ronald McDonald performed his "Book Time with Ronald McDonald" show. He began the show with a little magic with the help of Mariah. After the magic show Ronald McDonald played "Ronald Says" with the kids, and read them a story ("Where the Wild Things Are") and had them all involved. Ronald McDonald also had a magic helper named Andy, who helped Ronald McDonald make a magic fishing hat. Ronald McDonald finished his show with the help of four volunteers. The kids all helped Ronald McDonald create a Fairy Tale and the volunteers were part of the story.

The volunteers were a brave night, princess, monster and a very silly villain. The kids had a great time and so did Ronald McDonald. At the end of the show Ronald had all the kids take the "Readers are Leaders" pledge. After Ronald McDonald's show the kids all lined up to have their picture taken with Ronald McDonald. Ronald McDonald's appearance was courtesy of the Elgin McDonald's owners, The Bear Family. Special thank you to Jennifer Bueche of the library for setting up the event.
