Lindenfest offers four days of fun, Aug. 11-14

Lindenfest 2016 is set for Thursday through Sunday, Aug. 11-14. Festival hours are 6-10 p.m. Thursday, 6 p.m. to midnight Friday, noon to midnight Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.

The event is held every year at the Lindenhurst Village Hall Center, at 2301 E. Sand Lake Road.

The festival includes carnival rides, a parade, games, bingo, food, live entertainment, a Battle of the Bands, Mayor's Auction and the Little Miss, Junior Miss, and Miss Lindenhurst Pageant.

Carnival Hours are 6-10 p.m. Thursday, 6-11 p.m. Friday, 1-11 p.m. Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday. Balloon sculpting and face painting will be available Saturday.

This year features a new parade route, with lineup at Lindenhurst's Millennium Park, 201 Country Place. The parade will step off at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, and proceed west on Sand Lake Road from Country Place to Valley Drive.

Musical acts for the festival include Chason' Mason and Boy Band Review on Friday, Steely Dan tribune band Deja Blue and Elton John tribute Simply Elton on Saturday, and the Battle of the Bands on Sunday, as well as DJ Wayne Ewing on Friday and Saturday.

Admission to the festival is free. No pets, alcohol or outside food allowed on festival grounds.
