Hampshire-Henpeck club to discuss clearing clutter Aug. 16

The Hampshire-Henpeck Unit of Home and Community Education will meet at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, at the Heartland Bank, Route 72 and Warner in Hampshire.

The hostesses for this meeting will be Barbara Mursu and Mary Ebert. They attended the recent "Lesson for Living/Learning, Simplifying Your Life by Clearing the Clutter," and will offer hints and tips on the subject. What will you do with all the extra time you will have on your hands? Consider attending the meeting. Visitors are always welcome.

In July, club members had an excursion to the Anderson Japanese Gardens in Rockford. A wonderful time was had by all. They explored waterfalls, koi ponds, turtles and birds, Japanese tea houses, quiet areas for resting and meditation, and beautiful grounds and bridges. A special thank you is extended to the two docents as they made the experience fun, interesting and memorable.

The unit is a member of the Kane County Association for Home and Community Education. Its mission is to enhance the lives of individuals and families through quality, educational programs and experiences, encouraging responsible leadership and service to the community.

If you would like more information on the organization, consider attending one of the meetings. Visitors and new members are always welcome. For information, call Barbara Janicak at (847) 946-4696 or Geraldine Rizik at (847) 683-2784.
