HBO to launch 'Vice News Tonight' Sept. 26
LOS ANGELES (AP) - HBO says it will launch its nightly Vice newscast on Sept. 26.
Aimed at younger viewers, "Vice News Tonight" will air weeknights at 7:30 Eastern time on the HBO channel, and will also be available on HBO Now, HBO Go and HBO on Demand.
"The nightly news hasn't changed its format in 60 years, whereas the way most viewers - particularly younger viewers - consume information has changed dramatically," said Vice exec Josh Tyrangiel. He said "Vice News Tonight" will target "viewers who have grown increasingly skeptical of daily broadcast news."
"Vice News Tonight" will join other Vice News efforts including HBO's weekly news magazine show "Vice" and the news site vicenews.com.
