Lions Club of Sun City to host its 10th annual Pancake Breakfast

The Lions Club of Sun City will host its 10th annual pancake breakfast as part of Huntley Fall Fest from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at the Cosman Center cafeteria, 12015 Mill St. in Huntley. Cost is $6 or free for children 12 and under when accompanied by a paid adult. Tickets are available at the door.

Come and enjoy link sausages, apple sauce, juice, coffee, milk, as well as all-you-can-eat pancakes.

Lions pride themselves that all money donated by the public, after expenses, are donated back to the public through its charitable projects. Lions are all volunteers and are never paid. Their motto is "We Serve" and they do.

They serve the local community through its membership with the Huntley Area Chamber of Commerce, its scholarship program with Huntley High School, buying eyeglasses for the needy in town, as well as volunteering with McHenry County Shop with a Cop, Grafton Township Food Pantry, and Home of the Sparrow.

The club serve the Lions of Illinois Foundation through its used eyeglass collection, participation in the low-vision clinics, Camp Lions for Vision and Hearing-impaired Children, Camp Lions for Vision and Hearing-impaired Adults, Hearing Aid Bank, Cochlear Implant Program, Diabetic Eye Clinics, and mobile screenings for retinopathy and hearing, as well as disaster relief.

They also serve the Lions International Foundation with eyeglass recycling, preventing blindness throughout the world, and national and international disaster relief.
