High winds, heavy rains in store for second round of storms
Another round of strong thunderstorms with high winds and heavy rains is heading toward the suburbs tonight.
The second line of storms is moving southeast from Iowa and could pack winds of up to 40 to 50 miles per hour, lightning and downpours, forecasters say.
A severe thunderstorm watch issued by the National Weather Service for much of the Chicago area, including Cook, DuPage, Kane and Lake counties, expired at 10 p.m.
Storms earlier Saturday night forced fans of Coldplay into designated areas within Soldier Field ahead of the band's concert. Shortly before 8 p.m., fans were allowed to return to their seats.
