Lake County health council seeks volunteers

The Lake County Health Department is seeking volunteers to join its Lake County Community Health Center Governing Council.

Several positions are currently open on the 13-member board that oversees the planning and direction of the eight community health centers operated by the Lake County Health Department. Council members help provide quality health care to those with little income or no health insurance.

Goals include developing a program for each patient and involving other community health resources, such as mental health services. Members are appointed to two-year terms and are expected to attend monthly luncheon meetings.
