Driver injured in I-90 crash near Elmhurst Road

A man was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital with minor injuries Wednesday morning after the car he was driving on the Jane Addams Tollway struck a construction vehicle near Elmhurst Road, according to Illinois State Police.

The crash happened about 5:21 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of the tollway near Des Plaines. It appears the driver's Mercury struck the construction vehicle as it was pulling into a construction area, police said.

The left eastbound lane remained closed while police investigated and cleared the crash scene, but has since reopened. The crash remains under investigation, and no citations have been issued, state police said.
