Marshall AD appointed to NCAA football oversight committee

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) - Marshall athletic director Mike Hamrick has been appointed Conference USA's representative on the NCAA's football oversight committee.

The university said Monday in a news release that Hamrick will replace former Conference USA senior associate commissioner Alfred White, who now is senior director of marketing and strategic partnerships for the College Football Playoff.

Hamrick will serve on the committee through June 2018. After that he'll be eligible to be reappointed to an additional four-year term.

The committee is chaired by Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby.
