Pet microchip giveaway for Lake County residents Saturday

Lake County residents can get free identity microchips for their pets in North Chicago on Saturday, July 23.

The city is giving the chips away from 9 a.m. to noon behind the North Chicago Community Center, 1730 Lewis Ave. Other pet treatments will be available at no charge, too.

Several businesses and organizations are sponsoring the event, including Midwest Rescue of Illinois, Baird and Warner, 4 Love of Pets and Fetching Tails.
