Who is to blame in Dallas?

The heartless murder of five police officers has surfaced more tension in our already-fractured nation. As Americans, we must see what's real. May our prayers be with families of those killed, wounded, and all the police affected by loss, trauma.

The Black Lives Matter movement hasn't condemned the police, but asked for fairer treatment under law. When Timothy McVeigh blew up the Oklahoma City Federal Building, protesting the federal response at Waco, others who protested weren't discredited.

When the Orlando madman killed 49, neither heterosexual nor homophobic people were painted with guilt. The shooter wasn't with BLM, he was an opportunist.

We shouldn't punish a movement or a people for the acts of a madman nor discredit an appeal for fair treatment under law. After decades of overwhelmingly peaceful pursuit of fairness and inclusion, we owe it to our democratic vision to see truly.
