Bayern confirms transfer of defender Benatia to Juventus

MUNICH (AP) - Central defender Medhi Benatia is leaving Bayern Munich to join Juventus on loan for one season.

Bayern says Juventus holds an option to sign him to a longer deal.

Benatia played two seasons for Bayern after arriving from Roma.

The arrival of Germany central defender Mats Hummels from Borussia Dortmund made Benatia's departure likely.
