FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Backup Arkansas quarterback Rafe Peavey has undergone surgery after suffering a back injury during summer workouts.

Razorbacks coach Bret Bielema said in a statement Thursday that the injury is minor and that Peavey is expected to fully recover. Bielema said Peavey underwent successful surgery on Wednesday and that he's expected to return for the start of fall practice on Aug. 4.
