Buffalo Grove Rotary Club Installs New Officers, Presents Recognition Awards

The Buffalo Grove Rotary Club installed its new officers for 2016-2017 on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at the Rotary Village Green in Buffalo Grove.

Bill Ferreira, Past District Governor, announced the installation, and presented the new board to the large crowd in attendance. The new officers are:

Dane Bragg, President

Ryan Risinger, President-Elect

Shawn Collins, President Nominee

Andrew Spetter, Secretary

Brian Shepard, Treasurer

New directors include Nadine 'Deenie' Pomilia, Bill Donahue and Daniel Wolf.

The past president of the club is Aaron Appell.

Recognition awards were also given out to members, and included:

Perfect Attendance Award (38 years): Glen Meier

Quack Award: Bill Donahue

Distinguished Membership Award: Debbie Smith

Happiest Member Award: Adriane Johnson

Youth Leadership Award: Martha Weiss

International Service Award: Stephen Legge and Dan Wolf

Service Above Self Award: Rob Seitz

Rotarian of the Year Award: Dane Bragg

2015-2016 Milestone Club Service Awards:

Kevin Weasler - 5 years

Rich Klein - 10 years

Rob Seitz - 10 years

Steve Balinski - 15 years

Chris Altieri - 25 years

Greg Lundgren - 25 years

The Rotary Club of Buffalo Grove (RCBG) is a not-for-profit volunteer organization committed to local and international service projects. Some examples of the projects sponsored by RCBG through its extensive fundraising efforts include: Literacy programs in Buffalo Grove area elementary schools, local food bank assistance through Kingswood United Methodist Church, Rotary Village Green summer concert series, international youth exchange programs and sponsorship for outbound Buffalo Grove and Stevenson High School students, as well as inbound students from around the globe, holiday food baskets for low-income families, international clean water initiatives in partnership with the Engineers Without Borders program and much, much more.

With more than 50 active members, the Rotary Club of Buffalo Grove and has remained vibrant for more than 40 years. The club meets on Thursdays from 12:15 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Lou Malnati's, 85 S.
