Kobayashi scores late goal to lead Kawasaki past Albirex
TOKYO (AP) - Yu Kobayashi scored a late winner Wednesday to lead Kawasaki Frontale to a 3-2 win over Albirex Niigata for its third straight win of the J-League's second stage.
Leo Silva gave Albirex a 2-1 lead in the 65th minute but the hosts pulled even on an own-goal 10 minutes later. Kobayashi sealed the win in stoppage time.
Kawasaki, Urawa Reds and Yokohama F Marinos all have nine points to lead the second-stage standings.
Marinos beat Vissel Kobe 3-2 with Martinus scoring the winner in stoppage time, while Shinzo Koroki also struck in injury time in a 1-0 win over Vegalta Sendai.
In other games, first-stage winners Kashima Antlers beat Nagoya Grampus 3-0, while defending champion Sanfrecce Hiroshima earned a point in a 3-3 draw with Kashiwa Reysol.
The winners of each stage and top three clubs of the aggregate table will qualify for the championship in November.
Elsewhere, Mizuki Hamada scored a late goal as Avispa Fukuoka beat FC Tokyo 2-1 for only its third win of the season. Yohei Toyoda scored both goals to give Sagan Tosu a 2-0 win over Shonan Bellmare. Omiya Ardija drew 0-0 with Gamba Osaka, while Ventforet Kofu against Jubilo Iwata also finished goalless.
