Hanover Park police host annual COPS Day Picnic
The Hanover Park Police Department hosted its annual COPS Day Picnic at the Wulff Pavillion Wednesday night - a part of its efforts to foster a better relationship with the community it serves.
Residents were invited to the free picnic, where police command staff members grilled hot dogs and mingled with community members.
Public safety vehicles from the department were on display, and residents could learn about new technology police are using. Residents also had a chance to meet with members of other service organizations.
Skates, the Chicago Wolves mascot, and Coop, mascot of the Schaumburg Boomers, both were there. Attendees also had the chance to get their face painted and enter a raffle for a new bicycle.
