States taking back their sovreignty
The recent decision by the people of Britain to withdraw from the European Union has some strong parallels to some events happening here in America.
British residents, unhappy with nonelected bureaucrats making rules and imposing policies on them, parallels how American citizens are unhappy with their federal government and its continual assault on states' rights.
The solution being pursued in America is not a referendum. It's an Article V Convention. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes state legislatures to call a convention for the purpose of proposing amendments to the Constitution. If 38 states ratify the proposed amendments, they become part of the U.S. Constitution. So far, eight states have approved Resolutions supporting an Article V Convention.
The states do have a solution to take back their sovereignty from an overreaching federal government.
