Batavia Windmill City Festival wraps up with friendly competition

Friendly competition was one of the themes Sunday during the final day of Batavia's Windmill City Festival at the city's Riverwalk.

Family members, neighbors, friends and other festival visitors competed in events such as an ice cream eating contest, golf chip shot competition, fire hose challenge, and the Chuck the Duck Race.

The four-day fest, which traditionally draws between 10,000 and 13,000 attendees, is one of the largest community events in Batavia. It also featured live music, a pet parade, a sidewalk chalk drawing contest and a carnival, craft show and flea market.
