Portion of Euclid Ave. closing in Arlington Heights for construction
Euclid Avenue in Arlington Heights will be closed starting Monday, July 11, at the Union Pacific railroad crossing immediately west of Northwest Highway for reconstruction work.
A detour will be set up to direct motorists around the closed intersection until the work by Union Pacific is complete.
Drivers westbound on Euclid approaching Northwest Highway must turn right onto Northwest Highway. Straight-through traffic and left turns will not be allowed. The number of lanes on Euclid Avenue approaching Northwest Highway will be reduced to just one westbound lane in order to reduce confusion.
The detour route will follow Northwest Highway to Wilke Road, where traffic will turn left to travel to the next intersection at Euclid.
Drivers eastbound on Euclid will be directed to turn left at the intersection with Wilke and travel to Northwest Highway, where they can turn right and follow the detour back to Euclid.
