Teenager arrested after high-speed chase in Indiana

MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) - Authorities say an 18-year-old suspected of stealing his grandmother's car in Fort Wayne was arrested after a high-speed chase spanning two Indiana counties.

WISH-TV reports (http://bit.ly/29k3g43 ) the chase began shortly before 3 a.m. Monday when an Indiana State trooper tried to pull over the suspect for speeding in Delaware County. Authorities say they arrested 18-year-old Amado Perez in Madison County after the car ran out of gas.

Authorities say Perez ran into a fence when he tried to flee.

The chase exceeded speeds of 100 miles per hour.

Perez has been charged with multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, including vehicle theft and resisting law enforcement.

It was not immediately clear whether Perez had an attorney who could comment on his behalf.
