Dryer causes fire in Sleepy Hollow

A malfunctioning dryer caused a small fire Monday afternoon in a house on the 1300 block of Acorn Drive in Sleepy Hollow, authorities said. Someone in the house noticed smoke and called 911. Crews from the Rutland-Dundee Fire Protection District extinguished the fire before it got into the structure of the house, Lt. Jim Samack said. No one was injured.
