Wrong to have statute of limitations on abuse
The sentence that Dennis Hastert received is unbelievable. Think of the victims. They were young boys at the time and trusted Mr. Hastert. He was someone they looked up to because he was their coach. I don't understand how the statute of limitations allow criminals to get a lesser sentence than they would have gotten. What about the victims of these crimes? How long would he have stayed in jail if there was no "statute of limitation? How can our courts give Hastert such a light sentence? He may be in poor health, but how many of his victims had their lives changed (and not for the better).
