Family and friends of the 14-year-old Waukegan boy who drowned Friday at Waukegan Municipal Beach have raised more than $1,000 toward the cost of his funeral since Saturday. Police don't believe Park Ridge girl's death to be suspicious

After two days of investigation and interviews, Park Ridge police said yesterday they do not believe the death of a 7-year-old girl who collapsed at a Maine South High School summer cheerleading camp to be suspicious. And while authorities believe the victim's death was due to natural causes, it could be another six to eight weeks before an official cause of death is determined by the Cook County medical examiner's office, authorities said. Two found dead in Bensenville home

Bensenville police say there is no known threat to the community as they continue to investigate a home where two unidentified adults were found dead Wednesday morning. Wisconsin man charged in March fatal I-90 limo crash

A Wisconsin man who crashed a limo along I-90 in March - killing one and injuring five - was charged yesterday on allegations he was too young to drive a commercial vehicle, state police said. Aaron T. Nash, who turns 21 in December, faces a punishment ranging from probation to three years in prison if convicted of violating a motor carrier safety law by a driver, which is a felony, authorities said. Police: Molester taped assaults of Villa Park teen to keep her quiet

A 39-year-old Melrose Park-area man has been charged with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old Villa Park girl, the Cook County sheriff's police said in a news release last night. Police said they received a report early Monday morning that the girl had been assaulted multiple times over the past three years at Rodolfo Salazar's residence on the 10300 block of West Medill Avenue. Overheating toy ignites house fire in Naperville

A overheating toy scooter - similar to a hoverboard - sparked a minor house fire in Naperville last night, according to a news release by the Naperville Fire Department. According to the initial investigation, the toy overheated in the basement of a home on the 5000 block of Bamboo Lane a few minutes after 6 p.m. Full story.
