Preckwinkle nominates 5 to county Health, Hospitals System board

Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle has nominated five health experts to the governing board of the Cook County Health and Hospitals System. Sidney Thomas, Mary Driscoll, Mary Richardson-Lowry, Dr. Virginia Bishop and Layla P. Suleiman Gonzalez were presented to the Cook County Board of Commissioners Wednesday, and will be considered by the Board's Legislation and Intergovernmental Relations Committee. A final board vote is expected July 13. CCHHS directors, who are not paid, are the governing authority for the Health and Hospitals System. All the nominees have worked extensively in health-related fields.
