Des Plaines mayor chosen to head Northwest Municipal Conference

Des Plaines Mayor Matt Bogusz is taking over for Rolling Meadows Mayor Tom Rooney as president of the Northwest Municipal Conference, the association of 44 municipalities and one township in the Northwest and North suburbs.

Bogusz was sworn in at the organization's annual gala June 22 as president for 2016-2017. He is the 58th president in the history of the organization.

“The efforts of the NWMC and its leadership make it possible for members to stay on top of issues that affect our communities on a daily basis,” Bogusz said in a news release. “I appreciate that we support each other's efforts to help save big money and make sure our common interests are heard at both the state and federal level.”
