Anderson man pleads guilty in clerk's office bomb threat

ANDERSON, Ind. (AP) - A 34-year-old Anderson man has pleaded guilty to charges that he phoned in a bomb threat to the Madison County Clerk's office last month.

Under the terms of his plea, Andrew E. Leonard faces a maximum sentence of three in prison when he's sentenced on felony counts of intimidation where the victim is a judge or bailiff and making a false report.

Leonard's May 2 call led to the voluntary evacuation of the Madison County Government Center in Anderson and a search that included the use of three bomb-sniffing bombs. No bombs were found.

Leonard was quickly arrested after his phone number showed up on the caller ID in the clerk's office.
