St. Charles library to host Dist. 303 art show, open house
Showcasing their incredible talent, art students in St. Charles Unit District 303 will participate in the annual "Art of the Imagination," hosted by the St. Charles Public Library July 1-31.
For more than 25 years, the library has been host to the monthlong event which will display the artwork created by elementary through high school students including drawings, paintings, weavings, photographs, sculptures and digital media.
"The St. Charles Library 'Imagination' art show is a great opportunity for some of the D303 K-12 visual art programs to showcase student artwork," shared Rebecca Hubbs, art teacher at Wredling Middle School. "The art show will feature the 2015-16 permanent collections from most schools and is a small glimpse of the many talented artists we have the privilege to teach every day."
The student art will be displayed in the Huntley Meeting Room, the art gallery on the mezzanine and both lobby display cases at the library, 1 S. Sixth Ave.
An open house reception will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 9, in the Huntley Meeting Room. Refreshments will be served.
The public is invited to view the artwork during the month of July. Library hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday; and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. For information, call (630) 584-0076, ext. 240.
