Ela Township buys land

Ela Township has paid $490,000 for about 10 acres near Deer Park that'll be used for sports fields and a recreation area. Officials said the site, with eight usable acres, is at 21096 N. Deerpath Road in unincorporated Lake County. "As Ela Township grows, so does the need for additional recreational space," township Supervisor Lucy Prouty said in a news release. "We are proud to be able to secure this property for our Ela Townships residents and their families to enjoy for years to come." Ela already operates three parks.
