Modern Day Romeos to play in Hoffman Estates

The Hoffman Estates Arts Commission and the Hoffman Estates Park District welcome back Modern Day Romeos to the Virginia Mary Hayter Village Green at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 23, as part of the "Summer Sounds on the Green" concert series.

Modern Day Romeos play a musical selection including Motown classics, classic rock from the '80s and '90s, and the top pop and rock of the 2000s. The high-energy band has entertained crowds in Hoffman Estates before, playing multiple shows at the Northwest Fourth-Fest in 2013 and 2014 and past Village Green Concert Series.

Modern Day Romeos alter most of the songs to their own style and add a lot of comedy and medleys to make your favorite songs new to you again.

This concert is the second of a series of eight free summer shows. All performances take place Thursdays at 7 p.m. The Village Green, 5510 Prairie Stone Parkway, across the street from the Sears Centre Arena off Route 72, in the Poplar Creek at 59/90 "Entertainment District."

Admission is free. Bring a blanket or a lawn chair to the amphitheater. If you are bringing a picnic, do not bring glass bottles, glasses or glass containers for the safety of barefoot patrons.

Levy Restaurants will be selling a variety of traditional snack food, as well as unique items, changed each week to compliment the concert's musical theme. Beer, wine and mixed drinks will also be sold. A limited supply of 20th anniversary commemorative cups will be available for purchase; discounts on beverages filling the cups may be offered during the 2016 season.
