Rescuers pull injured woman from deep inside Indiana cave

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) - Officials say a woman is doing well after dislocating her shoulder and spending more than 10 hours in a cave outside Bloomington.

Emergency responders responded to a report of an injured woman at Buckner Cave on Saturday evening. The (Bloomington) Herald-Times reports (http://bit.ly/1Oni83A ) the woman slipped and fell as she and three friends were deep in the cave Saturday afternoon. Her friends became disoriented as they went for help. They didn't emerge from the cave for six hours.

The woman was brought out of the cave about 1 a.m. Sunday by a team of rescuers and spelunkers who found her and used a rescue basket to bring her to an ambulance.

Lt. Paul Ford of the Van Buren Township Fire Department described the group as "experienced cavers." The woman wasn't identified.
