Share your Lake County big idea at Grayslake gathering

Area residents may voice their ideas about what they'd like to see in the future for Lake County at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, in the Byron Colby Barn in Grayslake.

Liberty Prairie Foundation, the League of Women Voters of Lake County, and Livable Lake County are co-sponsoring a workshop called "On To 2050."

The workshop, presented by the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, is informative and interactive.

Attendees can weigh in with their thoughts about transportation, housing, economic development, open space, the environment, or other quality-of-life issues for Lake County.

The agency is the official comprehensive planning organization for the seven counties of the greater Chicago region.

It has led almost 100 of these workshops throughout the Chicago region over the past several months.

This is an opportunity for Lake County residents to be heard and provide input. For more information about CMAP, see their website, at www.cmap.illinois.gov/onto2050.

The Byron Colby Barn is a restored historic building inside the nationally recognized Prairie Crossing community. The barn is located at 1561 Jones Point Road in Grayslake. Doors open at 6:45 p.m.
