Participants made Memorial Day event a success

This past Memorial Day weekend, Salute Inc. held its 13th Annual 5k/10k Walk/Run and CrossFit Challenge near Recreation Park and it was a great success.

Great turnout of runners and walkers, along with incredible support from sponsors and friends, Salute is truly blessed to be a part of this community.

Since Salute's beginning in 2004, over 2,800 injured and wounded military service members and their families have been helped with over $3 million dollars in direct and in-kind financial and material assistance and support. It has been an amazing 13 years of serving the military and veteran communities, and the greatest reason for our success is you.

Whether you have volunteered, run or walked in a race, donated or been a sponsor, or taken the time to tell a friend or peer about Salute, you have played a role in making the lives of these heroes and their families better and more stable.

We always say if we can get a lot of folks to do a little bit, we don't have to find a few to do it all, and this is so true, as we have seen this in action each and every day these past 13 years.

When any individual is in need or caught in a terrible situation, it's good to know there is an organization to help. For our veterans and their families, Salute is there and will be there because of each of you.

You never know what will happen when you help someone, maybe save their life, maybe motivate them to pay it forward, or maybe create a future Salute?
