Aurora police seek man in May shooting

Aurora police are asking for help to find a man, who is already wanted on a 2014 warrant, to interview about a May 3, 2016 shooting.

Police say Aaron Tolomac, 21, who has Aurora addresses listed in the 2000 block of West Illinois Avenue and the 500 block of Spruce Street, is wanted for questioning in a shooting that occurred inside of a friend's apartment, also located in the 2000 block of West Illinois.

No one was hurt in the matter, which happened around 10:40 p.m. when a single shot was fired through a ceiling in the apartment, police said.

Tolomac is wanted for a July 28, 2014, fight in which police say he hit a 25-year-old man in the head with a skateboard. The victim was treated at an Aurora hospital and Tolomac was charged with misdemeanor battery.

Police said Tolomac is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached if spotted. He is 5 feet 3 inches tall and about 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He sometimes spells his last name as Tolamac.

Anyone with information should call 911 if they see Tolomac. Information and tips can be provided to Aurora police investigators by calling (630) 256-5500 or Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at (630) 892-1000. Callers to Crime Stoppers are anonymous and qualify for reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to Tolomac's arrest.
