Shed fire causes $20,000 in damage near Mundelein

A fire that sparked inside a shed and spread to a neighboring house near Mundelein is under investigation, authorities said.

Firefighters were called to the 21000 block of Crescent Drive at 11 p.m. on June 6 for a reported structure fire in an extremely large shed.

The shed was in flames and the fire had spread to the exterior of a neighboring house when firefighters arrived, authorities said.

The fire was put out in 20 minutes, authorities said.

Authorities estimate the fire caused $20,000 in damage to both the shed and the neighboring house.
