Northern Illinois man charged in wife's stabbing death

MCHENRY, Ill. (AP) - A 30-year-old northern Illinois man has been charged with fatally stabbing his wife in the throat.

McHenry Deputy Police Chief John Birk says Anthony Harrison of McHenry was charged Tuesday with two counts of first-degree murder in the death of 30-year-old Laura Harrison.

Police responded to the house 8:53 a.m. Monday for a report of a medical emergency. Officers found Anthony Harrison, who was airlifted to Condell Hospital in Libertyville with unspecified injuries. Police searched the home and found his wife dead.

Court records do not show if he has hired an attorney. His bond has been set at $3 million and he is under police custody in the hospital. He is scheduled to be in court on July 6.
