Long Grove's new Summer Fest to open June 24

Summer Fest, a revamped version of the popular Long Grove Strawberry Fest, will be held Friday, June 24, through Sunday, June 26, in the historic downtown. The event will include an array of bands, art, shopping, family activities and food. Live music will be performed on three stages. Headliners are Too White Crews, a hip-hop cover band, Sixteen Candles playing hits of the `80s and Mr. Blotto, which blends folk, rock and country. An assortment of treats will be available from 70 vendors. Kids' activities include three-legged and potato sack races and arts and crafts. Pie eating competitions will be Saturday and Sunday. Hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday; and, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $5 per day or $10 for a three-day pass (online only).
