Hoffman Estates begins summer concert series June 16

The Chicago Skyliners Big Band will kick off the Hoffman Estates Arts Commission's and Hoffman Estates Park District's 20th season of "Summer Sounds on the Green" concert series at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 16, at the Virginia Mary Hayter Village Green.

The concert is the first of a series of eight summer shows.

The Village Green is located at 5510 Prairie Stone Parkway, across from the Sears Centre Arena off Route 72 in the Poplar Creek at 59/90 Entertainment District.

The Chicago Skyliners Big Band features the music of greats such as Count Basie, Buddy Rich and Frank Sinatra.

Admission is free. Bring a blanket or a lawn chair. Picnics are welcome, but do not bring glass bottles or glasses.
