Just a few loads of soil needed here

As a St. Charles homeowner, I question why we need to spend $2 million for two athletic fields. Natural grass is sufficient and poses the same safety risk. IMO we need to focus less on sports and put more money and effort towards academics.

Why are we looking at this type of discretionary outlay when the middle schools have a shortfall and we are looking at potential school closures? We need fiscal responsibility, not upgrades athletic fields.

There is a clear correlation why my property taxes have nearly doubled over the last 10 years. The answer is a spend thrift school administration. If the field condition at St. Charles North needs additional soil, a few dump trucks of soil will be much more cost effective.

If the superintendent fails to realize this, please resign immediately. We need smart leadership, which appears to be lacking here.
