CHICAGO (AP) - A second Chicago man has been charged in the death of a woman who was struck by a pickup truck on Lake Shore Drive while fleeing robbers.
Twenty-year-old Devonte M. Dodd was charged with murder, attempted robbery and mob action. Chicago police say he will make an initial court appearance Sunday.
Judge Adam Bourgeois on Saturday set bond at $500,000 for 18-year-old Semaj Waters at a hearing in the city. Waters also faces charges of murder, mob action and attempted robbery.
Authorities say 32-year-old Pamela Johnson was struck by a truck after a group of men started chasing her and her boyfriend while they strolled May 29 along Lake Shore Drive. She died at a hospital.
Family members have said Waters was running from the same gunman as the couple.
