Ex-Kentucky forward Jennings signs with South Carolina

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Former Kentucky forward Alexis Jennings signed at South Carolina, the latest high-profile transfer to continue her career with the Gamecocks and coach Dawn Staley.

Staley announced Jennings signing Wednesday.

The 6-foot-2 Jennings averaged 10 points and 7.1 rebounds as a sophomore for the Wildcats last season. She'll have two years left for South Carolina after sitting out next season because of NCAA transfer rules.

Staley has filled her roster with standout transfers in recent seasons. Atlantic Coast Conference rebounding leader Sarah Imovbioh played her final season for the Gamecocks last year after leaving Virginia.

Next fall, Staley will have former all-ACC players Kaela Davis of Georgia Tech and Allisha Gray of North Carolina in the lineup. Both sat out last season.
