Small plane veers off upstate NY runway for second time

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a small plane that veered off an upstate New York runway after landing has again rolled off course, this time during takeoff a day later.

Albany International Airport officials say the pilot was again uninjured when his plane left the runway and rolled through grass onto a taxiway.

On Tuesday, a brake apparently locked, causing the plane inbound from Indianapolis to turn off the runway.

An airport spokesman says the pilot's original destination was Vermont, but he didn't know if that's where the plane was heading Wednesday.

The airport was shut down briefly for emergency equipment to reach the plane.

It wasn't initially known what caused the latest mishap. Federal air safety authorities are investigating.
