Greater St. Charles CVB names new director
ST. CHARLES - Greater St. Charles Convention and Visitors Bureau has named Lula S. Cassidy executive director, effective June 6.
As the former president and CEO of InnTerActive Marketing, a hospitality and tourism outsourcing consulting firm, Cassidy advised hospitality and tourism brands, hotels, events and venue owners on revenue improvement plans to drive more top line revenues to their businesses. Cassidy is also known in the hospitality industry as a keynote conference speaker, having spoken for hotel brand conferences like LaQuinta Inns and Suites and Best Western events. In her first week she will host Cory Jobe, Director of the Illinois Office of Tourism, and escort him on a tour of the Bureau's service area highlighting the many attractions.
"She brings a robust combination of hospitality and marketing experience to the table.," said Lynn Caldwell, SCCVB board president. "As an Illinois native, Lula understands who we are and that Greater St. Charles is a destination for both leisure and meetings visitors. Her expertise and enthusiasm will be an incredible asset to the Bureau as it supports St. Charles hotels and other tourism related businesses in the service area."
A native Midwesterner, Cassidy grew up in New Windsor, Illinois, before going to Augustana University for her undergraduate work and New York's Cornell University for the Leadership Academy and her Master's degree.
