Police say they have names of suspects in death of woman
CHICAGO (AP) - Chicago police say they have the names of some in the group of men who allegedly chased a couple onto Lake Shore Drive over the weekend, resulting in the death of a 32-year-old woman.
Police department spokesman Anthony Guglielmi says investigators have received "community tips" and have a "pretty good idea of who the offenders are." The department on Tuesday released high-definition Chicago Transit Authority surveillance photographs of the men who allegedly threatened to rob up Pamela Johnson and her 43-year-old boyfriend early Sunday.
Guglielmi says none of suspects were in custody.
Police say at least one of the men was carrying a gun when they chased Johnson and her boyfriend onto Lake Shore Drive. A pickup struck and killed Johnson. The boyfriend was injured.
