Celebration for Gurnee walking program

A free rally is set for 6 p.m. Wednesday at Viking Park in Gurnee to celebrate a walking initiative. Residents were asked to walk in their neighborhoods or at park district facilities for 30 minutes a day starting at 6:30 p.m. as part of the Go Gurnee project. To celebrate the program, the Viking Park rally will feature free raffle prizes, an inspirational talk, a 30-minute walk and more. Gurnee Park District officials also are expected to release plans for the movement's next steps. Viking Park is at 4374 Old Grand Ave.
